While the new 2024 Honda Accord does have some favorable traits, it’s clear to us that the new 2023 Volkswagen Arteon is the winner in this match-up. The Volkswagen Arteon model’s 2.0-liter TSI® turbo 4-cylinder engine produces 300 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque; the Honda Accord model’s 1.5-liter turbocharged engine only produces 192 horsepower1 and 192 pound-feet of torque.2 You should also notice that the Honda Accord lacks the option to include leather seating and a wireless phone charger. The Volkswagen Arteon, on the other hand, offers leather seating on higher trims, and a wireless phone charger is standard for all models. When you choose the Volkswagen Arteon, you’ll also get to enjoy features like a standard Climatronic® Touch three-zone automatic climate control system and an eight-inch touchscreen with navigation. Meanwhile, the Honda Accord can only upgrade its climate control system to two zones, not three, and the largest center touchscreen size is only seven inches, not eight.
