Bruce Qvale has been known to say this when talking about the Qvale legacy, which goes all the way back to 1947. The Qvale Auto Group was started by Bruce’s father, Kjell “Mr. Q” Qvale, who was one of the first to import European cars to the U.S. Today, 15 dealerships bear the Qvale name and are spread across the country, from Florida to California. These dealerships carry some of the most popular and prestigious automotive brands, including Jaguar, Land Rover, Audi, Porsche, Honda and Subaru. The Qvale Auto Group prides itself on its unique approach to customer service — our “We Meet You There” philosophy allows you to shop the way you prefer, whether online or offline.
A Brief History
Once Kjell Qvale was branded as a successful businessman in manufacturing, distributing and retailing European automotive brands, it was just the start.

1949:Qvale moved to San Francisco and started the British Motor Car Distributors, Ltd.

1950:Qvale was named chairman of the first Concours D’Elegance at Del Monte Lodge, Pebble Beach.

1970:Qvale bought Jensen Motors in West Bromwich, UK.

2000:The Qvale Auto Group began production of the fabulous new Mangusta in Modena. QAG later sold the rights to the Mangusta to Britain’s MG Rover Group.

2013:After almost 70 years in the automotive industry, Kjell Qvale passed away, leaving his automotive legacy to his children.
